What is a High Performer?

Senior executives, founding entrepreneurs, business owners, thought leaders, influencers, and individuals with a passion for life excellence in their career and beyond.

High performers

  • Are committed to creating the best possible outcome for their lives and for everyone in their sphere of influence.
  • Understand that work can be fun. They want to create more passion and joy in their lives, both personal and professional.
  • Are willing to both work hard and play hard: achieve enormous goals with wide reaching impact, and celebrate the small successes in life.
  • Know that they have this one life to live and want to make it a beautiful and influential one.
Shouldn't 'High Performers' already know all this productivity stuff?

An Olympic level swimmer already knows how to swim, but that doesn’t mean she knows how to win a medal. High performers have shown that they are “in the race,” but everyone, even the best, can benefit from an expert and coach to truly excel.

We have tried cookie-cutter productivity systems before. How will this be different?

We are system-agnostic while being highly familiar with many of the popular technology and paper systems. Whether you use MS Outlook, Google, or paper planner systems, the skills and habits we teach apply and can be adapted to your world and specific needs. At times we may recommend tools or systems that might be a better fit to your style or situation, but in the end productivity is as much or more about YOU than it is about technology or tools.

How long are your programs?

We offer keynotes, conference break out sessions, and webinars from 45-90 minutes.

We offer learning programs from 90-min to multiple month series.

We offer consulting Infusion Programs from 3 months to multiple years depending on your organizations goals.

There's a leader in my company who might benefit from working with you. How do I introduce them to you?

Sometimes people can feel cornered and judged if you tell them that they’re a disorganized mess, so considering your language and timing carefully can be important.

We’ve had several approaches be effective to connect the dots between a specific leader and our work.

The direct approach: Explain how and why you’d like to support their further success and growth. Focus on growing their potential, then send them to our website, give them a copy of Erin’s book Meaning & Method, or send them another relevant article or post and suggest that getting a “coach” might help them level-up their skills, avoid frustration, or increase their confidence. Finally, suggest they schedule a strategy session with us to learn more about how we might help.

The indirect approach: Schedule a strategy session for yourself and explore bringing us in to offer a presentation or learning program for that leader and their team or some larger section of your organization. Then, we can begin introducing them to our concepts, and we can arrange for a more subtle meeting to open doors to support them further.

Will you travel to our location?

We enjoy traveling to meet our clients on-site in their work environments! However our travel schedules do get busy very quickly, so we may not have availability for a trip as quickly as you might want support. Additionally, our clients reimburse all travel expenses for our services.

Therefore, we do large amounts of our work via video conferencing (Skype, or your preferred system, if available.) This can be a great way to have a face-to-face meeting that’s easier to schedule and requires fewer travel expenses.

A final alternative is to have you come to us. We’re based near the ocean on the North Shore of the greater Boston area, which is a beautiful location for most of the year (maybe less fun January-March, unless you enjoy some snow, as we do.) We can assist you with making local travel arrangements (hotels, ground transportation, restaurants.) This option is excellent for retreat-type services because often the best way to help you think more expansively about your life and your future is to move you outside of your normal environments. Thus, we might recommend this for services like our Clarity Creation Day.

What types of payment do you accept and what are your standard payment terms?

At this time we can accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Check, or Bank Transfer/ACH payments. We currently cannot accept American Express payments.

Our standard invoices are for net 30 days from the invoice date. If other terms are required by your organization, then they must be negotiated in advance and may incur additional fees. A 5% discount may also be offered for full-payment in advance of beginning your services.

What are your cancellation & rescheduling policies?

Program Cancellation

Once a program is selected and confirmed, we often incur commitments of time and resources on your behalf far in advance of any program dates. Because a cancellation or postponement initiated by the Client causes losses, either through direct resource expenditure or due to refusing other opportunities for selected dates, we include the following cancellation policy which remains in effect in all cases other than acts of God (i.e. major disasters).

Your assigned strategist will personally conduct the consulting sessions; if, because of physical incapacity, she is unable to do so, you will have the choice of having another Chosen Course strategist conduct the session or having your assigned strategist available at another session date with no cancellation fee. Chosen Course is in no way liable for any expenses relating to this program in the event our strategist is unable to appear. (We have never missed an event in over 11 years in business.)

Virtual Session Cancellation

If you need to reschedule your virtual session, please make every effort to provide 72 hour notice prior to your session. Part of improving your productivity skills includes reducing the number of last minute cancellations and schedule changes occurring in your world, which is why we ask for appropriate advanced notice to help you build these skills. We cannot guarantee that we will have times available within 14 days, so we strongly recommend that you make every effort to keep the appointments on your calendar.

Onsite Session Cancellations & Rescheduling

Any changes to the schedule must be requested no less than 30 days prior to the date scheduled. Every effort will be made to honor reasonable requests for re-scheduling. Cancellation of a scheduled date with less than 30 days notice will result in a rescheduling fee of 25% which will appear on your next invoice.

What to Expect?

Exploration Phase

We will aim to reach you by phone within one business day. On that call we will discuss your situation, and schedule a Strategy Session call with our founder, Erin Elizabeth Wells, to discuss your project. All our work begins with a 30-45 min strategy session to discuss your challenges and discover if we will be a good fit to help.

If there will be multiple people involved in this project, then we encourage making your strategy session a conference call so that all questions can be addressed, opinions heard, and we can begin from a strongly aligned place with your group or team.

Proposal & Agreement Phase

During and after the strategy session we will work together with you to develop a menu of options and a recommendation for how we can help with interventions that are appropriate to achieve the outcomes you desire.

When an option is selected, then we will prepare a letter of agreement for your e-signature reflecting the choice you’ve made and beginning our work together.

Data Phase

For Consulting & Learning Programs

We always begin by providing the Chosen Course Excellence Assessment to anyone who will be participating in our work together.

An invitation to the assessment is emailed to the appropriate people, and their responses are collected over 1-2 weeks maximum. The assessment generally takes 7-12 minutes and is comprised of a variety of self-rater and short answer questions.

Summary data will be provided to the appropriate leader, but individual responses are kept confidential.

For Speaking Presentations

You may either choose to include access to the Chosen Course Excellence Assessment as part of guiding our topic selection or preparing your participants for the experience, or we may conduct brief interviews with key organization members or participants to further guide topic selection and content development.

Infusion Phase

We begin our planned work through whichever combination of consulting, learning programs, or presentations we have determined is appropriate to achieve your desired outcomes.

Depending on the option you have chosen the Infusion Phase may involve a matter of weeks before and after a specific presentation for your organization or several years of consulting and learning programs to move you or your whole company forward into a more effective and productive lifestyle. We relish the opportunity to watch you grow, and we enjoy celebrating your successes with you!

Evaluation Phase

Prior to the end of our term we re-evaluate the progress toward our various objectives. We may re-administer the Chosen Course Excellence Assessment to determine what systems and behaviors have changed.

Sometimes new objectives come to light because the largest pain areas have been addressed and new ones have become more evident. If this is the case, then we’ll work with you to consider next steps to address these areas through further work.
